Have any of you been visiting TLB of late? The blog has been going a few months now, what have been your favourite articles so far? What's helped you the most and what would you like to read about in the future? Best, Nigel www.theluthierblog.com www.nkforsterguitars.com |

I wish I had time to go through it all Nigel, like a lot of stuff out there. I have read through a lot of it. It's great! I do like it when you post here because it's a reminder to have a look and easy with the link. I don't recall which one, but the most inspirational for me was one where you said something along the lines of "quit doing it the same old way just because and try something different." I think it was shapes, technique, whatever. Maybe you can dig it up and post a link. It was good stuff and it sunk in. I also like this. http://www.theluthierblog.com/articles/ ... hat-sells/. I hope you keep it up. It's all very well done, informative and interesting. If you folks haven't checked it out, it's good stuff as is your work buddy. Thanks. All The Best, Danny |

That must definitely be the entry where you talked about keeping it simple. that was an eye-opener for sure, for some reason. |

My favorite is still the first one; 5 rules for a guitar that sells. Helped me out because I had been debating whether to alter the design of one of my in-progress guitars to 12 or 13 frets to the body, but especially considering that it doesn't have a cutaway, sticking with the original 14 is definitely the way to go. Luckily it's big, pretty, and not made out of maple ![]() I also like the articles on air quality. Good to do multiple posts to emphasize the importance of lung health, and actually give people some ideas on what to do about it. The design ones are good too, as well as the accompanying threads here to get people discussing things ![]() ![]() Voicing is another of my favorite topics, but it's way too vast to cover much in one article. Thin top style, thick top style, arch tops, flat tops, dome tops, various other shapes of top (I think you'd know something about that ![]() |
